About the Firm
Built on Relationships. Measured by Results.
An executive legal search firm in Newport Beach, California, working with attorneys and Am Law firms across the country.
Our Story
A different premise.
Newport Associates was founded five years ago on a simple premise: executive legal search should be defined by high-touch strategy, deep industry access, and genuine relationship building, not by volume. The industry had drifted toward transaction. We wanted to build the opposite.
Our founder spent nearly a decade in Big Law partner recruiting before opening the firm. Early in her career she orchestrated a multi-partner practice group move to a major international firm, a process that took months of quiet coordination across economics, conflicts, client consents, and the personal calculus of every attorney involved. That search shaped how she has worked ever since. It taught her that the hardest part of a lateral move is never the resume. It is the judgment.
We treat every lateral move as a long-term strategic marriage. A placement is not successful when the offer is signed. It is successful when the attorney is thriving on the new platform three years later and the firm considers the hire one of the best decisions it made. That standard is the only one worth measuring against, and it is why we advocate for both sides of every search.

How We Work
Three steps, run with care.
- 01
Confidential Consultation
We start with a conversation, not a resume review. We want to understand your practice, your clients, your economics, and what is actually driving you to look. Nothing leaves that conversation without your permission.
- 02
Strategic Positioning and Introductions
We build the case for your practice and take it directly to decision makers. You are introduced to a short list of firms that have told us they want to invest in exactly what you do.
- 03
Offer, Negotiation, and Transition
We advise through the offer, the economics, and the terms, then stay involved through notice, client transition, and your first months on the new platform.
